I CAN BE YOUR GUIDE, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME

Ciao, I'm Elbrich Bos, an official licensed English speaking tourist guide for the Italian region Friuli Venezia Giulia. In my spare time I work as a writer and translator.  Follow me on Twitter under 'Explore Friuli'.

Dear visitor to my site,

May I introduce myself? I'm Elbrich Bos, born and raised in the Netherlands where I met my Italian husband for whom I moved to the region called Friuli Venezia Guilia in northeastern Italy. I have been living here for 20 years already, and I work with great enthusiasm as a tour guide. Since I know the region like the back of my hand, I decided to turn my hobby into my work by pursuing professional tour guide training, which I completed successfully. I therefore am licensed to guide in four languages: Dutch, English, German and Italian.

This still relatively unknown region of Italy has much to offer. It is situated between the Adriatic Sea to the south, the Alps on the border with Austria to the north and Slovenia to the east. To the west it borders with the better known Veneto region, which Venice is the capital of.

Friuli has a very rich history and offers beautiful natural diversity. You will find many old and very interesting cities such as Aquileia, Udine and Trieste, quaint villages, seaside resorts with sandy and rocky beaches, untouched nature, mountains, hills and lakes. All of this a stone's throw from Slovenia, Austria and Venice. It has not yet been discovered by mass tourism and the advantage is that it is still fairly quiet and not too expensive (not unimportant)!

This website is divided into several chapters. In the chapter "things to do", I give advice about activities such as hiking and visiting caves.  In the chapter "the provinces" you can find the most famous and popular historical destinations divided by province. I also write about sports, wine tasting and castles. Furthermore, I write extensively about nature and the coastline with its variety of beach resorts.

I would love to be your personal or group guide.  I look forward to sharing all my inside information, including funny and interesting facts that you may miss out on from other guides.

I hope you enjoy seeing what this region has to offer and hopefully I’ll see you soon, arrivederci!
